Mikhail Tsinman, violinist and concertmaster at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, also teaches at the Moscow Conservatory and plays with the Moscow Rachmaninov Trio. Studied at the Gnesin Music School under Yelena Bondarenko and Oleg Krysa and graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory, where he was taught by Boris Belenky, and completed post-graduate studies with Sergey Girshenko. He was laureate of Premio Rodolfo Lipizer Competition (Italy, 1990) and winner of Mozart Competition (Austria, 1991). Toured in Russia and abroad, working with conductors such as Alexander Lazarev, Hans Graf, Klaus Arp, Fuat Mansurov and Dmitry Liss, and others. Played with the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Orchestra, the philharmonics of Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Orenburg, Saratov, Tomsk, Ulyanovsk and Ufa, and the Tel Aviv Chamber Orchestra. As part of the Moscow Rachmaninov Trio he has participated in many international music festivals, including Moravian Autumn (Brno, 2004) and the Europelia Arts Festival (Belgium, 2005). Recorded Nikolai Metner’s complete works for violin and piano in a duet with pianist Vladimir Yampolsky. Since 2003 he has performed as conductor. In this recording he performs with his daughter.
Nika Lundstrem was born into a musical family in Moscow in 1982. From 1990 to 2001 she studied at the Moscow Conservatory Central Music School (with pedagogues including Maria Voskresenskaya, Dina Parakhina and Nina Makarova). In 2007 she graduated from Professor Irina Plotnikova’s class at the Moscow Conservatory and is now continuing her studies as a postgraduate. Laureate of the Premio Pianistico Silvio Bengalli International Competition (Italy, 2006). Since 1999 Lundstrem has received a scholarship from the Vladimir Spivakov International Fund. She performs solo and in an ensemble with Igor and Mikhail Tsinman.
